-Director
Janallie Toomer is a committed educator and passionate entrepreneur who, after receiving an unexpected diagnosis for her child, opened a school in Florida City, Florida, in 2012. When asked about the inspiration behind opening Shepherd of God Christian Academy, she reflected on her child’s experience in the public school system. He missed quite a bit of school due to the illness of sickle cell anemia and, naturally, this caused him to fall behind. It became quickly apparent that his current educational facility was not as dedicated to him as much as he, and other children with disabilities, deserved. She opened Shepherd of God Christian Academy under the mission to serve a variety of students from all walks of life.
